Hooting Towards Success
With what started out as a joke six businessmen decided to pool together their money to create a dream restaurant – one that’s filled with scantily clad servers.
Launched in April Fool’s Day of 1983 in Florida, right in an unlucky location where different ventures failed, Hooters apparently was a success! The joke was on the six businessmen (now known in history as the original Hooters 6)!
Just after a year since its launch, Hooters ‘ rights have been bought. The brand was owned by Coby Brooks and his sister, Boni Belle Brooks, children of the late and successful businessman, Robert H. Brooks.
The senior Brooks was one of the cogs behind the Hooters’ brand’s success, with more than 400 stores launched around the globe during his tenureship.

Chanticleer Holdings LLC bought the Hooters brand from the Brooks family in 2010. It was then sold to Nord Bay Capital and TriArtisan Capital Advisors in 2019. Nevertheless and whoever takes the helm of this brand, success is always on the horizon with this truly unique restaurant chain!
